I really enjoyed this show!! The acoustics were great and the sound was crystal clear. Candlelight: Coldplay & Imagine Dragons Tribute's set was a good mix of new music and old favorites, with the right balance of more up-tempo songs to keep everyone engaged with a few slower ones mixed in. Having only 3 other musicians backing him up was surprising, but totally on point. Highlights for me: Shape of My Heart Desert Rose Petrol Head Roxanne Every Breath You Take As well as the very personal opening and ending songs he did on stage by himself with just his guitar.
The venue was plenty big enough, but not so big you felt too far away from the stage. I was able to hear the "layers" of the music...not just one loud noise... if that makes sense. You can tell that the history he has with his band make it pretty effortless to play well together. Having his opening acts sing backup for him was a great choice and I appreciate how he included them in the show for more than just their opening sets. His opening acts, Joe Sumner and the Last Bandoleros were great surprises! Joe looks and sounds very much like his dad, except his style of music is very original. The Last Bandoleros were SO GOOD and brought some unexpected energy to their set. I don't think I've ever enjoyed an opening act as much as theirs.
